We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand to join our Fabrication Team in Bassendean, WA. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, you will provide day-to-day leadership, direction, and support to a team of tradespeople and operators, ensuring production activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced boilermaker, fabricator, maintenance professional, or production leader looking to take the next step in their career within a stable and well-established manufacturing environment.
In this role you will:
Lead and coordinate daily fabrication activities to achieve production and operational targets.
Support production planning and workflow management to ensure efficient utilisation of resources.
Drive a strong safety culture by promoting safe work practices and compliance with site procedures.
Monitor and maintain quality standards across fabrication and manufacturing processes.
Coach, mentor, and develop team members to enhance capability, engagement, and performance.
Collaborate with planning, maintenance, and operational teams to optimise workflow and productivity.
Provide hands‑on technical support and guidance to the team where required.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance safety, quality, and operational performance.
You will have:
A trade qualification in Boilermaking, Fabrication, or a related discipline.
Demonstrated experience in a Leading Hand, Supervisor, Crew Leader, or senior tradesperson role.
Strong technical knowledge of fabrication, welding, and manufacturing processes.
Experience within mining, heavy fabrication, fixed plant maintenance, or industrial manufacturing environments.
Proven ability to coordinate production activities and manage competing priorities.
A strong commitment to safety leadership and quality outcomes.
Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to lead by example.
