The Opportunity
Our Port Kembla Manufacturing facility is looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Officer in our Hot Strip Mill (HSM) Team based in Port Kembla. In this critical role, you will use your technical background and experience to deliver key outcomes in maintaining and developing the Down Coiler and Coil Handling equipment. You'll implement and improve our maintenance strategies to achieve optimum equipment performance and reduction in failures, ensuring that this world-class asset delivers safe, efficient and reliable continuous operations.
What Will You Do?
- Supervise the day-to-day management of plant maintenance activities, including planning, organising, execution and review of maintenance.
- Coordinate and provide technical support to the maintenance resources within the section.
- Coach, mentor and develop maintenance personnel in manufacturing excellence principles and processes, particularly around root cause and problem analysis and the development and execution of corrective actions.
- Participate in cost reduction and capital upgrade projects.
- Respond to the day-to-day Mechanical availability and reliability issues.

- A Mechanical Trade or tertiary qualifications.
- Experience working in a similar industry within Mechanical Maintenance, with a focus on defect elimination and equipment reliability.

- Experience in maintenance coordination and collaboration with multiple internal and external customers.
