You’ll need to already live in Australia and have full, unrestricted Australian work rights.
YOUR PLACE IN THE TEAM
Join the people who design, build and fly BlueCap’s airborne geophysics systems. You will keep in touch with our existing clients, present our survey services together with us and work alongside the crew in the field. Your conversations and field experience will help us improve what we do.
BlueCap provides survey services. We never sell our equipment. Our aircraft and sensors are the tools our team uses to carry out surveys for mineral exploration.
WE GO INTO THE FIELD AS A TEAM
Field missions are an essential part of this position. You will join us for all our field operations, with only rare exceptions agreed together.
- We travel, stay and work together for the whole mission. This is part of being in our core team, not an occasional extra.
- We plan dates around the team’s availability. If you cannot join a mission, we will usually need to postpone or cancel it rather than go without you.
- You will take on practical tasks, learn our systems and share your own experience. Qualified pilots handle flying; our geophysicists handle processing and quality control.
- BlueCap arranges and covers travel, accommodation, meals and field equipment. We prepare together, with attention to comfort and safety.
Most missions are in Australia. We also consider suitable overseas projects together. Flexible work between trips still means being available for these team deployments.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Look after existing client relationships. We already have a database of clients and geophysicists, with contacts and correspondence in BlueCapCRM. Keep in touch by email, phone or SMS, understand what they need and arrange the next step. There is no conventional cold prospecting or list-building.
- Present our services together with us. Arrange meetings and demonstrations, mainly in Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane, and sometimes Darwin. You may make an initial visit alone. For a fuller presentation, the team comes with our field systems to show how we can carry out a client’s survey.
- Keep projects moving. Work with Andrew and our geophysicists on survey needs, proposals and client updates. Stay in touch through trial surveys, commercial work and delivery.
- Bring feedback back to the team. Share client questions and field observations with the people developing our systems. You contribute to R&D through that practical experience; you do not need to be a researcher or engineer.
MORE LIFE BEYOND THE SCREEN
BlueCap is an established airborne-geophysics business with field operations dating to 2018. We build our own petrol-powered helicopter drones and integrate sensors, positioning and mission software. You will work alongside the people developing BlueCapHeli®, BlueCapBird® and our LiDAR systems, and see the results fly.
If you are ready for less time at a desk, new places and practical work with a small team, this could be a good change. You might come from IT, engineering, technical projects or another background entirely.
You will work with Andrew on clients and technical direction, Roman on field operations, Eugene on geophysics and Vadim on aircraft readiness. Meet the BlueCap team (https://bluecap.au/team-bluecaps/).
LIGHT, FLEXIBLE WORK BETWEEN TRIPS
Between missions, you work from home or your phone when there is something to do. There is no daily office schedule.
- The workload is light and irregular. A week may pass without an enquiry; another day, five clients may get in touch. When there is no work, you do not need to fill the day with routine tasks. We agree practical response times together.
- The systems are already in place. Our AI assistants and mobile app help with communications and follow-up. BlueCapCRM holds client history, BlueCapPhone connects calls and messages, and BlueCap Survey Portal supports projects from planning to delivery.
- You have help with routine work. Our quoting and administrative tools handle calculations, drafts and notes. You guide the AI assistants and take responsibility for the decisions and commitments that need a person.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Confidence talking with clients, listening and explaining things clearly in English.
- Initiative, sound judgement and reliable follow-through.
- Curiosity about technology and a willingness to learn and help in the field.
- Availability to travel and take part in our field operations as a team.
You do not need to be a geophysicist or a drone pilot. Basic familiarity with drones is useful. We teach you our systems and provide practical training for your work as a Pilot Assistant and Field Technician. Time on missions is also a chance to get to know each other and learn from one another.
SHAPE THE ROLE AND COMPENSATION WITH US
This is the first position of its kind at BlueCap. Bring your ideas about what you can contribute and how we could work together.
We’ll agree the responsibilities, workload and pay together, including time spent travelling and working in the field. We’ll put the agreed terms in writing before you start and work out how the role fits around your other commitments.
An additional share option may be offered after successful contribution and a proven mutual fit, with its grant and terms agreed separately.
