We’re a mortgage brokerage servicing Australia wide, built for the blue-collar workforce. Tradies and FIFO workers are our jam. We get it because we’ve lived it to our founder Kurt, a diesel fitter by trade who spent over 10 years working FIFO before building Blue Collar Money. He’s walked in our clients’ shoes, and that’s exactly why we do things differently.

This isn’t a suite and tie kind of gig; you can wear footy shorts and thongs for all we care because it’s not about what you wear, it’s about the value we provide beyond the mortgage.

We’re on a mission to build Australia’s #1 mortgage brokerage for the blue-collar workforce, and we’re looking for someone who wants to help us build it.

We’re looking for an experienced Credit Analyst to join our growing mortgage broking team. This role suits someone who loves solving complex lending scenarios, understands lender policy inside out, and takes pride in getting the structure right before an application reaches the lender.

You won’t simply process applications. You’ll take ownership of the credit analysis and loan structuring behind each deal, working closely with our main broker and a support admin staff member.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing complex residential lending scenarios and recommending suitable lender and product options
  • Completing servicing assessments across multiple lenders
  • Researching and interpreting lender credit policies
  • Structuring purchases, refinances, equity releases and investment lending
  • Reviewing PAYG, self-employed, company and trust income, including tax returns and financial statements
  • Reviewing existing loan structures and property portfolios
  • Identifying credit and policy risks before submission
  • Preparing clear credit notes and application strategies, and packaging high-quality applications for submission
  • Working with lender BDMs and credit teams on complex scenarios
  • Reviewing applications for accuracy, compliance and credit quality, and managing approval conditions
  • Providing training and support to our current support staff, helping the whole team grow
  • Helping improve our internal credit processes and systems

What we’re looking for:

  • Strong experience in Australian residential lending, either within mortgage broking or banking
  • Comfortable receiving a client file and independently working through: Client position, Borrowing capacity, Credit policy, Loan structure, Lender selection, Application strategy
  • Strong residential lending experience, with excellent knowledge of Australian lender policies
  • Advanced servicing and borrowing capacity skills, including complex investment lending
  • Strong understanding of self-employed borrowers, and company and trust structures
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Confidence dealing directly with lenders, BDMs and credit teams
  • High personal accountability
  • The ability to manage multiple files without sacrificing quality
  • Experience with AFG Flex, Broker Engine, Apply Online, Quickli would be highly regarded
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Finance and Mortgage Broking would also be highly regarded and/or looking to progress into a broker role
  • Bonus points if you have a trade or have worked FIFO or have worked with FIFO or Tradie's before

What success looks like:

  • Clear communication; emails can be a poor form of communication so picking up the phone to clarify detail is key
  • An environment where you have autonomy to run your own race and be yourself
  • Files move through assessment with fewer avoidable conditions and delays
  • Clients receive a smooth experience
  • You’re not just processing files; you’re helping us build Australia’s #1 mortgage brokerage for the blue-collar workforce, and one day you’ll look back knowing you were part of building something big from the ground up.
