We are seeking a Chemist (Casual) to join our laboratory team at BJP Laboratories Pty Ltd in Yatala, QLD 4207. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst contributing to our ongoing laboratory operations. As a Chemist, you will play a vital role in conducting chemical analysis, performing laboratory tests and ensuring the quality of our scientific work.
Key responsibilities:
- Conducting chemical analyses and laboratory tests in accordance with established protocols and procedures
- Preparing, calibrating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instrumentation
- Recording and documenting experimental results and findings accurately
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and laboratory standards
- Performing quality control checks on samples and analyses
- Assisting with the development and optimisation of laboratory methods and procedures
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to laboratory reports
- Supporting senior chemists and technical staff with routine laboratory tasks
What we're looking for:
- A qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Science or a related scientific discipline
- Demonstrated experience working in a laboratory environment, preferably in chemical analysis or testing
- Strong knowledge of chemical safety protocols and laboratory best practices
- Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and analytical instruments
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in conducting and recording experiments
- The ability to follow standard operating procedures and maintain comprehensive documentation
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A commitment to health and safety in the workplace
- Flexibility to work on a casual basis as required
- Preferred experience in quality assurance, environmental testing or pharmaceutical analysis
