About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Section Waiter to join our team at Bistro Mosman in Mosman, NSW 2088. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst providing the opportunity to showcase your expertise in fine dining service. As a Senior Section Waiter, you will be responsible for delivering impeccable service to our guests, managing your section with professionalism, and supporting junior staff members. Your role is integral to maintaining the high standards and reputation that Bistro Mosman is known for.
What you'll be doing
Providing attentive, professional service to guests in your assigned section
Taking orders accurately and communicating special requests to kitchen and bar staff
Delivering food and beverages with precision and knowledge of menu items
Managing table settings, clearing, and resetting with efficiency and attention to detail
Offering menu recommendations and suggesting wine or beverage pairings
Handling guest enquiries, complaints, and special requests with grace and discretion
Mentoring and supporting junior waiting staff members
Maintaining knowledge of current menu offerings, ingredients, and dietary requirements
Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
Contributing to a positive team environment and assisting with closing procedures as required
What we're looking for
Minimum 2-3 years of professional waiting service experience in fine dining or upmarket casual establishments
Strong knowledge of food, wine, and beverage pairings
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage guests naturally
Proven ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining service quality
Experience mentoring or training junior staff members
Flexibility and adaptability to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends
Attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and presentation standards
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain a professional demeanour
Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification or willingness to obtain it
