- Turn factory floor insight into numbers that matter
At Birch & Waite, we don't just make chef-quality sauces, dressings, mayonnaise and desserts. We create products that help Australians make everyday meals extraordinary.
The Birch & Waite Group now includes EP Food and Fresh Fodder, and we're preparing to move into our new Villawood site.
We're looking for a Manufacturing Finance Analyst to help us stay close to exactly what it costs to make great food, and how to make it even better.
This is more than a numbers role.
We're looking for someone who wants to discover the story behind the figures.
Someone who's happy walking the factory floor, chatting with operators and site managers, and asking "why?" until the variances make sense.
Then you'll turn what you learn into reporting that drives real decisions.
Reporting to our Operations Finance Manager, you'll own cost of sales and conversion variance accounting, including forecasting, across Birch & Waite, EP Food and Fresh Fodder.
You'll be a trusted finance partner to our Head of Operations and site managers.
You can choose to be based at either our Revesby or Marrickville site, before moving to our new Villawood home as our transition progresses.
- You'll be responsible for
- Leading cost of sales and conversion variance accounting and forecasting across three businesses
- Partnering with lead site managers to provide practical, timely financial support
- Building and improving daily, weekly and monthly manufacturing performance reporting, including our monthly performance review meetings
- Finding performance gaps and turning them into opportunities
- Maintaining standard costs with Master Data and leading the annual standard cost update
- Improving our product costing model and acting as backup for sales quotes
- Strengthening inventory controls, including managing the monthly SLOB and quarantine provision
- Supporting the Villawood transition team as we build our future home
You'll thrive here if you...
- Have solid manufacturing finance experience.
- Know costing inside out, especially inventory
- Are CPA qualified (or equivalent) or nearly there
- Are a whiz with Excel and are embracing AI
- Enjoy explaining the numbers to people outside finance, from the shop floor to senior leaders
- Bring mid to senior level experience and like owning your work
Bonus points if you have...
- Microsoft Business Central experience
- Food manufacturing experience
- Experience with a site move, system change or other big transition
- Life at Birch & Waite
People are at the heart of everything we do.
We believe the best ideas come from collaboration.
You'll join a supportive team that's passionate about quality and continuous improvement, where your ideas are valued and your work has a real impact.
As we grow and move into Villawood, you'll help shape how finance and operations work together and help build the future of one of Australia's leading food manufacturers.
