We are currently seeking a suitably qualified, reliable and motivated Chef to manage the kitchen and preparation of meals at our 37-bed site, Bethanie Kingsley Aged Care Home. We are offering this role on a permanent, part-time basis and you will be available to work the following shift pattern:
- Week 1: Thursday 07.30 – 15.30, Friday 07.30 – 15.30
- Week 2: Thursday 07.30 – 15.30, Friday 07.30 – 15.30
The Role
- Prepare fresh, nutritious meals daily in line with menu requirements and resident needs.
- Contribute to innovative, creative dishes, particularly for special occasions such as themed meals and celebrations.
- Engage with residents, listen to feedback and incorporate meal suggestions into menu planning.
- Stock control and kitchen supply management including ordering through internal systems.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and workplace standards at all times.
- Undertake responsibility of daily food safe documentation and ensure compliance is met.
About You
- Possess a passion for, and previous experience working as, a chef/Cook for large groups of people, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment.
- Minimum requirement of a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery.
- Ability to supervise other members of staff.
- Experience in ordering food stuffs and awareness of waste management.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Excellent working knowledge of the Food Act and Food Standards Code.
- Willing to obtain relevant vaccinations.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or National Police Clearance (or willing to apply for one).
