At Bentleys Queensland, we go beyond compliance - we deliver specialist tax insights that drive growth, manage risk, and create long-term value for our clients. If you’re a Senior Accountant who wants to take full ownership of your clients, build deeper relationships, and step up within a supportive team environment, this is a genuine next step in your career.
About The Role
This is an opportunity to step into a hands-on Senior Accountant role within our specialist Tax team, where your technical expertise and leadership capability will be genuinely valued. In this role, you'll oversee the preparation and review of income tax returns, BAS and IAS, FBT, and tax effect accounting, while delivering tailored tax planning and advisory solutions. Your work will include exposure to restructures, consolidations, international tax considerations, and succession planning, as well as providing clear, strategic advice around tax risk, compliance, and legislative change.
Internally, you’ll play an important role in the team - supporting junior accountants, answering questions, and helping ensure work is delivered accurately and on time. You’ll manage your own workflow, stay on top of deadlines, and contribute to a team environment where people can rely on each other. This role gives you the opportunity to strengthen both your technical skills and your confidence in managing client relationships - without losing the support around you.
About You
You are a detail-oriented problem-solver who thrives in technical environments. You're passionate about tax and take pride in guiding clients through complex issues. You’re already working in public practice and comfortable managing compliance work across a range of entities. You enjoy being organised, delivering accurate work, and building steady, professional relationships with your clients.
You’ll bring a CA or CPA qualification (or be well on your way), along with three to five years of Business Services experience, ideally some corporate tax experience or an interest in this area. You’re confident using systems like Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks, and have a solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards. You’re also someone who contributes positively to a team - reliable, approachable and willing to support those around you while continuing to learn yourself.
What You'll Get
- Career Development: Access the Bentleys Learning Pathway Program, with financial support to complete your CA/CPA and continue building your technical capability.
- Extra Time Off: Enjoy 5 weeks annual leave, a purchased leave scheme, and paid parental leave to support life outside of work.
- Financial Benefits: Salary packaging options designed to help you maximise your take-home pay.
- Modern Workplace: Work in state of the art eco-conscious offices, complemented by end-of-trip facilities and a flexible 'Dress for Your Day' approach.
- Access to Leaders: Work closely with senior staff and Partners who are invested in your development and career progression.
- Social & Community: Be part of a vibrant social culture with regular events, networking opportunities, corporate volunteering, and team sporting activities.
- Health & Wellbeing: Benefit from 50% off Goodlife Gym memberships, annual health screenings and flu vaccinations, fully funded participation in events like Corporate Games and Bridge to Brisbane, plus confidential mental health support through our Employee Assistance Program.
