An Exciting Opportunity to Help Shape the Future of Urgent Care
Bendigo Primary Care Centre (BPCC) is seeking experienced and motivated Registered Nurses to join our team in newly developed Senior Nurse positions within the Bendigo Medicare Urgent Care Clinic (UCC).
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in one of Bendigo's most important community-based healthcare services, contributing to the delivery of accessible, high-quality urgent care while helping shape the next phase of the service's development.
With permanent full-time and part-time opportunities available, we are looking for nurses who are passionate about clinical excellence, enjoy supporting and leading others, and are enthusiastic about making a meaningful difference to healthcare delivery in their community.
About Bendigo Primary Care Centre
Bendigo Primary Care Centre is a community-owned, not-for-profit healthcare organisation committed to providing accessible, affordable and high-quality healthcare to the people of Bendigo and surrounding communities.
Operating one of regional Victoria's largest primary care practices, BPCC brings together an extensive multidisciplinary workforce of doctors, nurses, allied health professionals and administrative staff.
Our Bendigo Medicare Urgent Care Clinic is a high-profile community health service providing bulk-billed urgent care for patients requiring timely treatment for non-life-threatening illnesses and injuries, helping improve access to care and reduce avoidable demand on hospital emergency departments.
As the UCC transitions to an expanded extended-hour, seven-day-per-week operating model, we are strengthening our nursing workforce and evolving our approach to clinical care, creating exciting opportunities for experienced nurses to take on greater leadership and clinical responsibilities.
About the Role
As a Senior Nurse, you will play an integral role in supporting the clinical and operational leadership of the Bendigo Medicare Urgent Care Clinic.
Working closely with the UCC Manager, medical practitioners and the broader multidisciplinary team, you will help coordinate the delivery of safe, efficient and high-quality urgent care, while providing day-to-day leadership, guidance and support to nursing colleagues.
This is a diverse and rewarding position that combines hands-on clinical nursing with team leadership, workforce coordination and continuous service improvement.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing senior clinical nursing leadership and supporting the delivery of safe, high-quality, patient-centred urgent care.
- Supporting nurse-led triage, clinical assessment and patient management in accordance with the UCC's evolving Model of Care.
- Working collaboratively with the UCC Manager to educate, mentor, supervise and support nursing colleagues.
- Promoting compliance with relevant clinical standards, organisational policies and Commonwealth Department of Health, Disability and Ageing requirements.
- Supporting the coordination of nursing and medical workforce coverage and rosters.
- Acting as a key point of contact for operational matters.
- Working closely with doctors, nursing colleagues, management and administrative staff to support effective clinical and operational workflows.
- Contributing to clinical governance, quality improvement, workforce development and the continued evolution of the UCC's Model of Care.
About You
We are looking for experienced Registered Nurses who bring sound clinical judgement, strong communication skills and a genuine commitment to collaborative, patient-centred care.
You will be comfortable working in a dynamic clinical environment, supporting colleagues and taking initiative to ensure the effective day-to-day operation of a busy healthcare service.
Ideally, you will demonstrate:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia through AHPRA.
- Demonstrated clinical nursing experience, preferably in urgent care, emergency, acute care or primary healthcare settings.
- Strong clinical assessment, triage and decision-making capabilities.
- The ability to provide leadership, supervision and professional support to nursing colleagues.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence in coordinating competing clinical and operational priorities.
- A commitment to clinical governance, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
- A collaborative, adaptable and proactive approach to working within a multidisciplinary team.
Previous experience in a senior nursing, team leadership or clinical coordination role will be highly regarded.
