We are seeking an enthusiastic Visual Arts teacher with a keen creative eye, strong organisational skills, and a passion for helping students discover their artistic potential. You will join a supportive, tight-knit TAS and CAPA team where ideas are welcomed and initiative is valued. There is genuine scope to introduce projects, develop your teaching interests, and contribute to the growth of Visual Arts at the College.
The opportunity
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive lessons aligned with the NSW Visual Arts syllabus and the College's explicit teaching approach.
- Work independently and collaboratively on programs, lesson planning, assessment, and shared resources.
- Bring fresh ideas to practical projects, student exhibitions, and wider College initiatives.
- Maintain clear documentation, student records, and timely assessment and reporting.
- Manage materials, equipment, and inventory, keeping art spaces safe, organised, and ready for learning.
- Build positive relationships and uphold consistent expectations for student engagement and behaviour.
What you will bring
We are looking for a teacher who combines creativity with follow-through: someone confident working independently, generous in sharing ideas, and proactive in preparing lessons and managing resources. You will have appropriate teaching qualifications and NESA accreditation, sound curriculum knowledge, and the ability to support students with varied strengths and learning needs. Skills in digital art, animation, or motion graphics are welcome but not essential—we are keen to hear about your own artistic specialties and interests. A commitment to the College's ethos, student wellbeing, and wider school life is essential.
What we offer
- A welcoming, collaborative faculty with mentoring and professional support.
- Creative freedom to develop meaningful projects within the syllabus.
- Support with planning and resourcing new initiatives.
- Opportunities to shape and grow the Visual Arts program.
Applications will only be considered from applicants who have the right to work in Australia, appropriate NESA accreditation, and retention of a valid Working with Children Check.
