Recognised for its entrepreneurial culture and commitment to excellence, the organisation offers the rare opportunity to join a project at a defining stage and contribute directly to its long-term success.

The Opportunity

As the organisation continues its transition from project development toward construction and future operations, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Lead to join a high-performing project team. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this role will play a critical part in shaping the commercial foundations of a major Western Australian resources project. Working across procurement, contracting, commercial governance and risk management, you will support the delivery of key project work packages and help drive commercial outcomes that support successful project execution. This is a hands-on position within a lean owner's team environment, offering broad accountability, direct exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to influence key decisions throughout a pivotal stage of the project's evolution. You will work closely with technical, project and operational stakeholders, leading tender processes, negotiating high-value contracts and ensuring commercial strategies are aligned with the broader development objectives of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead tendering, contract negotiations and ongoing contract administration activities
  • Provide commercial guidance across project delivery, cost control, governance and risk management processes
  • Manage contractor and supplier relationships while driving value, performance and commercial outcomes
  • Support project teams in evaluating commercial opportunities, claims and contractual risks

About You

You are a commercially astute professional with demonstrated experience supporting large-scale mining, resources, infrastructure or energy projects. You bring strong expertise in contract development, procurement, negotiations and commercial risk management, together with the ability to build productive relationships across multidisciplinary teams. You are comfortable operating in a dynamic project environment, can balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution, and enjoy taking ownership of outcomes. Experience working within owner's teams, project development environments or major capital projects will be highly regarded. Tertiary qualifications in law, commerce, engineering, quantity surveying or a related discipline are preferred.

Why This Role?

This is a rare opportunity to join a project at a defining stage of its development and contribute to decisions that will shape its future success. You will work alongside an experienced leadership team, gain exposure to major commercial and contracting activities, and have the opportunity to influence how a significant resource development is delivered.
