The Role
An opportunity currently exists for a Mechanical Engineer to join the Reliability Team based in our Wetherill Park Site, the home of Dare Iced Coffee, Dairy Farmers, Farmers Union, and Big M. Our Wetherill Park site in Sydney is our Milk Based Beverages (MMB) hub for the eastern seaboard. The site manufactures both Fresh and Extended Shelf-Life products, including our short pack format MBB and Ultra Heat Treated (UHT) long-life unrefrigerated milk. This state-of-the-art facility has benefited from past and ongoing large-scale investment and produces 75 million litres of some of Australia's most loved dairy products.
Reporting to the site leader, the Mechanical Engineer will:
- Plan the strategic direction for Packaging equipment & Continuous Improvement on-site, in line with current industry best practices.
- Instigate and lead improvement projects in data acquisition that deliver information suitable for crucial business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Deliver the Implementation site engineering, capital, and NPD projects and ensure project deliverables are met including safety, cost, quality, and benefits.
- Identify and provide solutions for process improvement opportunities to enable the goal of continuous improvement of our operations.
- Mentor and provide technical expertise to the maintenance and production staff.
- Lead and support continuous improvement and ad-hoc projects.
- Support and assist in the development of HACCP, Safety, and Environmental plans.

- Experience working in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Solid analytical & problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodologies & tools.
- Demonstrated experience in Project & change management.
- Ability to work with a diverse range of team members and stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
