Yard Hand in Penrith

Yard Hand in Penrith

Penrith Full-Time On-site
B

A well-run yard keeps a construction business moving. Whether you’ve got a mechanical background, an HR licence, or you just like spending your weekends tinkering on cars and know your way around an engine, this role is worth a look, especially if you’re the type who keeps things in order without being asked.

Bedrock Workforce is recruiting Yard Hands for established construction contractors, with full-time, permanent opportunities available. When the yard runs well, the whole team benefits. You’ll make sure equipment is ready, materials are organised and crews have what they need to get moving. You’ll take ownership of keeping the yard safe, organised and efficient, while introducing practical improvements to how it runs.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll start by getting the yard into shape: setting up order, improving the layout and creating a space that works for the crews who use it every day. Once that’s in place, the role grows into:

  • Keeping the yard clean, safe and well laid out
  • Loading, unloading and organising materials, equipment and deliveries
  • Keeping stock levels and inventory accurate
  • Making sure crews have the right gear ready when they need it
  • Pre-start and routine vehicle and plant checks, catching issues before they cause downtime
  • Managing plant, equipment, tools and maintenance registers, and coordinating servicing and repairs
  • Moving vehicles around the yard and to sites

What You’ll Need

  • A mechanical background, a current HR licence, or hands-on experience working on cars and vehicles, depending on the role

  • Reliability and the initiative to see what needs doing and get on with it
  • A genuine commitment to safety
  • Basic computer skills for registers and records are a plus

You don’t need to tick every box. If you’re reliable and keen to learn, we’d like to talk.

What’s on Offer

  • $65k – $80k + super, based on your experience and the position
  • Full-time, permanent – real job security with an established contractor
  • Penrith-based – if you’re in Western Sydney, you can work close to home and skip the M4 crawl
  • Extra earning potential – weekend overtime is there when you want to boost your pay. Take it when it suits you and skip it when it doesn’t. You decide.
  • A real career path – this business promotes from within, and its leadership team all started on the ground floor
  • A role that grows with you – progress from the yard into vehicle, plant and operational responsibility
