You will also play an important role in ensuring junior staff and field teams are applying appropriate sampling techniques and quality assurance procedures.

You will be a key part of a tight-knit team of trusted advisors, scientists and environmental specialists, committed to meeting the environmental goals for projects of all sizes. As a team we strive to provide sustainable, culturally sensitive and pragmatic solutions that contribute to making every day better. We also like to have fun along the way, so a good sense of humour will hold you in good stead.

About You

You will ideally have a degree or diploma in chemistry, environmental science, environmental engineering, earth science, natural resources or a related discipline, as well as demonstrated experience managing environmental monitoring programs. Strong practical knowledge and demonstrated experience of surface water, groundwater sampling techniques will enable you to supervise, mentor or train junior environmental staff. You will also have experience in assessing environmental data against Queensland Environmental Authority conditions and regulatory requirements, a strong understanding of sampling QA/QC, laboratory analysis and data quality requirements.

Knowledge of the Queensland Environmental Protection Act 1994 and relevant environmental legislation, guidelines and standards is a must, and you will have experience using Monitor Pro or similar environmental data management and reporting software, or the demonstrated ability to quickly learn new systems.
