Senior Procurement Manager - Capital Development | London ~ We are working with a rapidly growing data centre business seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager – Development to support its European data centre construction and infrastructure programmes…

Working closely with Development, Engineering and Legal teams, you’ll take ownership of procurement activities from initial sourcing strategy and competitive tendering through to complex commercial negotiations, contract execution, supplier mobilisation, and post-award contract management.

This is a hands-on, senior-level role with responsibility for managing end-to-end procurement across complex development projects, covering construction works, civil engineering, mechanical and electrical (M&E) infrastructure, major equipment, and specialist services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver procurement strategies for major data centre construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing and tendering across construction, civil engineering, M&E packages, major equipment, and specialist services.
  • Independently manage complex commercial and contractual negotiations through to contract award and execution.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts using FIDIC (particularly Yellow Book) and EPC contracting frameworks.
  • Manage contractual risks, commercial terms, variations, claims, and supplier performance.
  • Take ownership of post-award contract management, including expediting critical equipment, monitoring manufacturing schedules, and ensuring delivery to site.
  • Build strong relationships with contractors, equipment manufacturers and specialist suppliers across the UK and European markets.
  • Work collaboratively with project and technical teams to ensure procurement activities support project timelines, budgets, and delivery milestones.

Experience Required

  • Significant senior procurement experience within data centres, construction, infrastructure, energy, or major capital projects.
  • Proven experience sourcing construction works, M&E infrastructure packages and major equipment.
  • Strong commercial and contractual negotiation skills, with practical knowledge of FIDIC and EPC contracts.
  • Experience managing the full procurement lifecycle, including tendering, contract award, mobilisation, and post-award contract management.
  • Demonstrable experience expediting equipment and materials and managing supplier delivery against critical project schedules.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, commercial judgement, and the ability to manage multiple complex procurement packages independently.
  • Willingness to travel internationally when required.

Experience supporting hyperscale or colocation data centre developments, high-voltage infrastructure and OFCI (Owner-Furnished, Contractor-Installed) equipment procurement would be advantageous.

MCIPS or an equivalent professional qualification is desirable.

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity for a commercially astute procurement professional to play a key role in delivering major European data centre developments, taking ownership of complex procurement packages, and influencing commercial outcomes across critical infrastructure projects.
