Looking for something a little different from a traditional law firm?

We're working with a growing professional services group that's looking to appoint a Corporate Lawyer at Associate through to Special Counsel level.

This is an opportunity to work closely with business owners, ASX-listed companies and corporate clients on IPOs, capital raisings, M&A and general corporate advisory matters, with the added benefit of working alongside accounting, tax and financial advisory professionals.

About the Company

Our client is an established professional services business with approximately 50 staff across its legal, accounting, tax and corporate advisory divisions.

The business operates a legal practice with a structure similar to a traditional law firm, but with the advantage of having accountants, tax specialists and corporate advisers working alongside the legal team.

The culture is professional but relaxed, with approachable leadership, regular social events and company retreats.

About the Role

Joining a close-knit corporate legal team of approximately five, you'll work directly with senior management and clients across a broad range of corporate and commercial matters.

The role offers plenty of autonomy, direct client exposure and the opportunity to become involved in transactions from an early stage through to completion.

Duties

  • Advise on corporate transactions, M&A and capital raisings

  • Assist clients with IPOs and ASX listing requirements

  • Provide advice on the Corporations Act, ASIC and ASX compliance

  • Advise on corporate governance and regulatory matters

  • Draft and negotiate share sale agreements, joint ventures and commercial contracts

  • Work alongside accounting, tax and corporate advisory teams on transactions

  • Manage client relationships and provide practical commercial advice

Skills & Experience

  • Associate to Special Counsel level experience in corporate law

  • Strong knowledge of the Corporations Act and corporate advisory work

  • Experience advising ASX-listed companies or businesses preparing to list

  • Exposure to M&A, equity capital markets, IPOs or capital raisings

  • Ability to manage matters independently, appropriate to your experience

  • Commercial, approachable and comfortable working in a smaller team

Culture & Benefits

  • Competitive salary – remuneration comparable to mid-tier law firms

  • Work from home – one day per week

  • Potential equity opportunities – deal-related consultancy or equity arrangements may be available

  • Discretionary annual bonus – potential additional cash incentives

  • Company retreats & social events – friendly, collaborative team

  • Direct client exposure – work closely with business owners and senior decision-makers

  • Career progression – opportunity to take on greater responsibility as the business grows
