Administration & Laboratory Stores Officer in Melbourne

An exciting opportunity has become available for an Administration & Laboratory Stores Officer to join a well - known government laboratory and provide administrative support to the Laboratory Services area. This role will report to the Administration Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain the physical laboratory stores including receiving and packing stores, issuing stores to laboratory staff and generating order requests to replenish stores.
• Monthly stock take of laboratory stores
• Under general direction issue orders to suppliers for laboratory consumables, store items and stationery items.
• Maintain the stock of laboratory coats including keeping tidy stocks and fitting new staff with appropriate coats.
• Reception duties including but not limited to answering phones, greeting visitors and assisting set ups for site meetings.
• Other administration tasks that may include client invoicing using the LIMS system.

Ideally you will have:

• Experience in a laboratory and / or warehouse environment will be advantageous or demonstrated relevant cross over skills from another workplace.
• Demonstrated customer service skills including oral and written communication and well-developed skills in dealing with internal and external customers.
• A good knowledge of applications such as Microsoft products including Excel.
• Planning work goals and setting priorities within area of responsibility including the capacity to organise own work.
• Demonstrated ability to consistently exhibit the company values by building and sustaining positive relationships with team members whilst fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.
