High-impact, strategic risk and assurance role in a purpose-driven, community-focused organisation.

As our Risk and Assurance Business Partner, you’ll drive impact across Barwon Water, partnering closely with teams on a range of audits and assurance initiatives. You’ll take ownership of risk management activities, keeping the risk register and integrated management system current, and reporting audit findings directly to Senior Leaders, including the Executive. With a broad remit and genuine autonomy, you’ll manage the audit cycle end-to-end, from committee preparation through to annual accreditation reporting.

Drawing on best-practice risk frameworks, you’ll lift organisational capability in line with our strategic goals and build lasting trust in how we operate. Partnering with stakeholders across the business, you’ll bring consistency to how we audit and report on compliance breaches, turning complex challenges into clear, actionable insight as you deliver on our policy and procedural obligations.

This is a part-time role, 3 days a week with flexibility on the days you work.

A natural risk champion, you build capability through outcomes, motivating and enabling others to deliver on our organisational strategy. You’re naturally inquisitive, highly collaborative, and skilled at influencing others through a consultative approach that delivers exceptional outcomes. You take the initiative to champion an assurance-first culture, providing expert advice across risk, governance and assurance.

Your qualifications in business or finance, combined with hands-on experience in risk and governance management, set you up for success. As a trusted partner, you’ll deliver specialist advice that makes a real difference, backed by a tight-knit, high-performing team invested in your continued development.

Enjoy being part of an organisation that values results, personal and professional growth, workplace diversity and a balance between work and life commitments. Our work requires more than just engineering and scientific solutions. We’re learning from the tens of thousands of years of knowledge and insight from Traditional Custodians.
