As Demolition Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of demolition works while working hands-on alongside a small team of demolition labourers. Your role will include organising daily activities, allocating tasks, monitoring safety and productivity, and actively participating in demolition works. Depending on the project, you may also be required to operate an excavator and other plant.
Key responsibilities
Work hands-on in demolition activities alongside your team
Engage in discussions to clarify and identify potential issues with methodology using your expertise as supervisor and providing alternative solutions as part of the discussion
Supervise and lead a small team of demolition labourers
Allocate daily tasks and coordinate site activities
Undertake manual and mechanical demolition works
Operate excavators and other plant when required
Conduct pre-starts, toolbox talks and site safety checks
Ensure works are carried out in accordance with SWMS, WHS requirements and project specifications
Maintain productivity while ensuring safe work practices are followed
Coordinate manpower, plant, equipment, tools and materials required for daily works
About you
Minimum 5 years' experience working in the demolition industry
Previous experience supervising or leading a small demolition crew
A strong hands-on demolition background and willingness to work alongside your team
Experience operating an excavator in a demolition or construction environment
Strong knowledge of demolition methods, tools, plant and safe work practices
Good understanding of WHS requirements
Ability to lead a team while maintaining your own daily workload
Good communication and organisational skills
A practical approach to problem solving
