Bring your credit expertise to BankVic, making sound lending decisions while supporting our lending teams to deliver quality outcomes for members.
About BankVic: BankVic is the member-owned bank for those who serve our communities - police, emergency, and health workers. We exist to help our members and communities go further in life, by living our values: Together, Honest, and Brave. As a smaller bank, we offer something bigger - personal service, meaningful relationships, and real impact. We focus on individuals, tailoring support to help each person achieve their goals. Our size also means broader opportunities for our people. You’ll gain exposure across the organisation and be part of work that matters. If you're looking for more than just a job, if you want purpose, connection, and the chance to make a difference, BankVic is your smaller bank of bigger opportunity.
The opportunity: Reporting to the Senior Credit Manager, you’ll play an important role in reviewing lending applications and making sound, timely credit decisions in line with BankVic’s lending policies and procedures. Working closely with our lending teams, you’ll provide expert guidance on lending scenarios, deal structures and products, while supporting quality and compliance standards across the lending process. You’ll also use your credit expertise to provide coaching and training, identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to strong outcomes for our members.
What you’ll be doing:
- Review credit applications submitted by our lending teams and provide timely lending decisions within established service levels.
- Approve credit facilities within your delegated lending authority.
- Provide guidance on lending scenarios, deal structures, lending products and policy.
- Partner with lending teams to maintain strong quality and compliance standards.
- Provide coaching and training on loan file quality, missing information and adherence to lending policies and procedures.
- Identify and contribute to credit process improvements that enhance operational outcomes.
- Maintain strong knowledge of BankVic products and services, lending requirements and relevant regulatory obligations.
- Support the prevention and detection of industry fraud and corruption.
Who we are looking for: You’ll bring extensive lending assessment experience and a strong understanding of the end-to-end lending process, from application through to settlement. You’ll be confident reviewing applications, providing advice on lending structures and making well-reasoned credit decisions.
- Previous lending approval authority of $1.2 million+.
- Experience reviewing lending applications and providing advice on deal structures.
- Strong knowledge of financial services regulation, including AFSL and ACL obligations, Privacy legislation and responsible lending requirements under the NCCP Act.
- RG146 Tier 2 certification, or willingness to complete the required training.
- Strong numerical, analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, planning and time management.
- The ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a busy team.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
What we can offer:
- Discounts and savings off a range of our products and services.
- Access to additional five days of leave.
- Ambulance Victoria Membership.
- Employee assistance program.
- 2 days paid volunteer leave.
- Generous parental leave provisions.
- Ongoing professional development with access to study leave.
- Reward and recognition program.
