About Balance Orthopaedics

We're a busy specialist orthopaedic practice in Noosa Heads, bringing together orthopaedic consultation & surgery, a fracture clinic and physiotherapy under one roof.

The Opportunity

We're hiring a Medical Receptionist / Medical Administrator on a permanent full-time basis, Monday to Friday. This is a hands-on, varied role at the centre of a busy specialist practice. You'll be the first person our patients speak to and a key point of contact for our surgeon and clinical team. We're looking for someone who wants to be part of our team for the long term. In return, we'll invest in your development and support you to grow with the practice.

Day to day, you'll be:

  • Welcoming patients and managing a busy phone and front-desk enquiry line
  • Booking and coordinating appointments across orthopaedics, fracture clinic and physio
  • Handling invoicing, receipting, and Medicare/health fund/third-party billing
  • Supporting our orthopaedic surgeon and wider clinical team with day-to-day admin
  • Keeping practice documentation and processes up to date
  • Helping the practice run smoothly as things get busy

What We're Looking For

  • At least 3 years' experience in medical administration
  • Experience with Genie practice management software (highly regarded)
  • Confident, warm communication on the phone, at the desk, and with a clinical team
  • Sharp attention to detail and genuinely reliable follow-through
  • Comfortable working independently once you know our processes, but happy to ask when you don't
  • A solid grasp of Medicare, private health funds and third-party billing
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and picking up new medical software
  • Experience with surgical quoting, bookings and billing will be highly regarded
