Sales Assistance and Bakers Apprentices in Cleveland

Bakers Delight Cleveland is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Sales Assistants and Bakers Apprentices to join our team in Cleveland, QLD. This is a casual position offering flexible hours that will suit those looking to gain valuable experience in the baking and retail industry. Whether you're starting your career journey or looking to develop new skills, this role provides the perfect opportunity to learn from experienced bakers and contribute to our fast-paced, customer-focused bakery environment. You will be at the heart of our operations, serving our valued customers and developing practical baking skills in our brand-new store.

Key responsibilities:

• Providing exceptional customer service at the point of sale, taking orders and processing transactions efficiently and courteously.
• Assisting with the display and presentation of fresh baked goods throughout the store to maximise visual appeal and sales.
• Supporting the baking team with food preparation tasks, including measuring ingredients, mixing, and basic food handling under supervision.
• Maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment in both the retail and production areas, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Learning and practising fundamental baking techniques and processes as part of your apprenticeship development.
• Assisting with stock management, including monitoring inventory levels and restocking shelves as needed.
• Handling cash and card payments accurately, and reconciling the till at the end of shifts.
• Supporting the team during busy periods to ensure smooth operations and positive customer experiences.

What we're looking for:

• A genuine passion for excellent customer service.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor when interacting with customers.
• Reliability and punctuality, with the flexibility to work casual hours including weekends and public holidays.
• Basic numeracy skills and the ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
• A willingness to learn and develop new skills in both retail and baking environments.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst also taking initiative when needed.
• Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and handle manual tasks in a warm kitchen environment.
• Food handling qualifications or willingness to obtain them (training can be provided).
• Experience in retail or hospitality is advantageous but not essential for the right candidate.
