At Bailey Nelson, we’re on a mission to change how people see the world and how the world sees them. We’re a down-to-earth team that’s obsessed with improving every day, and we’re growing fast. Due to exciting growth plans and recent internal promotions & moves across the business, we’re looking for a Store Manager in Training to join our Flagship Pitt St store! This is your chance to step into one of Sydney’s most iconic retail precincts, help lead a high-performing team, and make a massive impact.

Why this role is a game changer

As a Bailey Nelson Store Manager in Training, you won’t just support the store, you’ll help run it. You’ll play a key role in delivering seamless, joy-filled customer experiences, from clinic to frame styling to final dispense. This is more than a job - it’s an intensive, fully supported leadership launchpad designed to transition you directly into running your own store.

Two ways to win in this role:

  • Strong Retail Store Manager with zero optics experience? You bring the proven leadership, team coaching, and commercial chops, and our in-depth 6‑month training will teach you the clinical and dispensing side from scratch.
  • Optics background ready for your own management role? You know the clinical world, and we’ll fast‑track your retail management, P&L ownership, and flagship leadership skills so you can run your own store in 6–12 months.

You’ll:

  • Support with store operations (including running the store 2 days a week)
  • Support the Store Manager & Optometrist to drive performance
  • Own the customer journey and make every interaction exceptional

What’s in it for you

  • OTE $90,000 (Base + Super + Monthly + Annual Bonus + Profit bonus) (monthly & annual incentives)
  • Fast-track to leadership - Your own store in 6-12 months
  • Real career growth - New stores opening across AU & NZ in 2026
  • Hands‑on training - Learn optical dispensing + leadership skills
  • Mentorship that matters - Coaching from Store, Regional & Area leaders
  • Build your own customer base - With strong local marketing support
  • 2 free pairs of glasses per quarter product allowance so you can rep the brand in style and a year's supply of contacts!

What we’re looking for

  • Retail, Hospitality, or Optical Leadership Experience: Proven experience at a supervisor or management level within a fast‑paced retail, hospitality, or customer‑centric environment. You know how to lead from the front, manage shifts, and keep a team motivated.
  • Values-Driven & Grounded: Someone who aligns perfectly with our culture and values - down to earth, tight knit and constantly striving to improve.
  • Commercial Acumen & Sales Drive: Proven experience at a supervisor or store management level, with a track record of smashing sales budgets and driving retail KPIs (Multipairs, ATV, Conversion).
  • Exceptional Customer Service Skills: A passion for delivering world‑class optical experiences, mastering the customer journey, and prioritising the customer above all else.
  • Natural Leadership & Accountability: Experience running daily store operations, managing rosters, and taking full ownership of store performance. You lead by example and love coaching and upskilling team members.
  • An Aspiring Store Manager: A driven retail leader with the ambition and resilience to upskill and step into a BN Store Manager role within 6–12 months.
  • Available to work full time 38 hours, Sunday–Thursday roster.

This is your chance to step into an exciting role, elevate your leadership career, and be part of a brand that’s growing fast. Bailey Nelson is proud to be an inclusive, diverse workplace. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and identities.
