Bacsoon Customising is seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Worker/Fabricator to join our dynamic team on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing and customisation environment based in West Gosford, NSW. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, and assembling sheet metal components and structures that meet precise specifications and quality standards. This position is integral to our production operations and offers the chance to develop your expertise whilst contributing directly to the creation of custom metalwork solutions for our diverse client base.
Key responsibilities:
- Fabricate, shape, and assemble sheet metal components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised machinery
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work specifications to ensure accurate production
- Operate sheet metal machinery including shears, brakes, presses, and welding equipment
- Measure and mark materials for cutting and bending with precision
- Perform welding and joining operations to assemble sheet metal components
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the fabrication process to ensure work meets specifications and safety standards
- Maintain and clean work areas, tools, and equipment
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production deadlines and project requirements
- Identify and troubleshoot fabrication issues, proposing solutions to improve efficiency and quality
- Adhere to all workplace health and safety protocols and procedures
What we're looking for:
- Formal qualification or apprenticeship in sheet metal work, fabrication, welding, or a related trade
- Proven experience working with sheet metal machinery and hand tools
- Competency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
- Strong understanding of metalworking techniques, including cutting, bending, forming, and joining methods
- Experience with welding (MIG, TIG, or stick welding) is highly desirable
- Knowledge of measurement tools and the ability to work to precise tolerances
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Physical fitness and the ability to lift and handle heavy materials safely
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Current or ability to obtain relevant safety certifications (e.g., White Card for construction work)
- Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic
