B & G Motors is seeking a Qualified Mechanic to join our team in Charters Towers, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in maintaining and repairing vehicles to the highest standards.
As a Qualified Mechanic, you will be responsible for:
- Diagnosing mechanical faults using diagnostic equipment and manual inspection techniques
- Performing routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks and adjustments
- Repairing and replacing mechanical components including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension and electrical systems
- Conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential issues and safety concerns
- Completing work orders accurately and ensuring all documentation is recorded properly
- Communicating clearly with customers about repair requirements, costs and timelines
- Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Keeping abreast of new vehicle technologies and repair techniques through ongoing professional development
What we're looking for:
- A recognised automotive mechanic qualification or relevant trade certification
- Proven experience working as a mechanic in a workshop environment
- Strong knowledge of vehicle mechanical systems, diagnostics and repair procedures
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment and hand tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- A valid driver's licence and ability to test drive vehicles
