Axxion Search is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for an established food manufacturing operation in the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region. This is a hands-on frontline leadership role with responsibility for coordinating day-to-day maintenance activity, supporting production requirements and leading a team of skilled tradespeople within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position would suit an experienced Maintenance Supervisor or Leading Hand, or a strong senior tradesperson ready to step into a formal leadership role.
The Role
- Working closely with production and the broader engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring maintenance priorities are managed effectively and equipment availability is maximised.
- Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and coordinating a team of maintenance trades
- Allocating daily work and managing maintenance priorities
- Coordinating breakdown response to minimise production downtime
- Supporting preventative and planned maintenance activities
- Providing hands-on technical support when required
- Working closely with production to resolve equipment and reliability issues
- Identifying recurring faults and opportunities for improvement
- Maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping and maintenance compliance
- Coaching and developing tradespeople within the team
About You
You will have a strong maintenance background and be comfortable operating in an environment where priorities can change quickly and good communication between maintenance and production is critical. Ideally, you will bring:
- Mechanical or electrical trade qualification
- Previous supervisory, leading-hand or team leadership experience
- Strong industrial maintenance and fault-finding experience
- Experience with preventative and reactive maintenance
- Exposure to automated production or processing equipment
- The ability to prioritise work and coordinate trades effectively
- Strong communication and practical problem-solving skills
- A genuine commitment to safety and equipment reliability
- Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, meat processing, agricultural processing or another high-volume manufacturing environment would be highly regarded.
