Auto Loans Group is an Australian vehicle and asset finance brokerage. We connect borrowers with the right lenders, and our systems carry that work end to end: lead intake, application processing, document handling and reporting. We're a lean team of about 30 people, all working in Salesforce. Our stack is modern and deliberately low-code: Salesforce Sales Cloud, Make.com, Box, BigQuery.

Position purpose

You are responsible for the operational reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement of Auto Loans Group's business technology environment. The role provides hands‑on technical support, investigation, configuration and solution development across Salesforce and a broader ecosystem of cloud applications, integrations and automation platforms.

  • Technical operations and application support (Run)
    • Own the investigation and resolution of technical and support issues, maintenance requirements, bugs and incremental change requests, ensuring business-critical systems remain reliable and effective.
  • Solution development and project contribution (Improve & Build)
    • Implement significant improvements to business processes, automations and integrations, and contribute technical expertise and augment delivery capacity of the project team.

Key responsibilities

  • Technical operations & support
    • Act as a primary technical resource for business application issues, incidents and support requests.
    • Triage and prioritise incoming issues according to business impact and urgency.
    • Diagnose problems spanning multiple applications, integrations, APIs and data flows.
    • Resolve faults through configuration changes, automation updates, data corrections and technical fixes.
    • Escalate complex incidents appropriately while retaining ownership of investigation and communication.
    • Monitor critical automations and integrations, proactively identifying errors and system weaknesses.
    • Perform root‑cause analysis and implement preventative improvements.
    • Coordinate with external vendors and specialist developers where required.
    • Support user access, permissions, data integrity and routine application administration.
    • Report support volumes and recurring themes monthly, and turn repeat questions into knowledge base articles.
  • Change requests & continuous improvement
    • Manage small and medium‑sized change requests through analysis, design, implementation, testing and deployment.
    • Build and modify Salesforce configurations, Flows, validation rules and related platform functionality.
    • Develop, troubleshoot and maintain integrations and workflow automations.
    • Assess potential impacts on upstream and downstream systems before implementing changes.
    • Support the project team with project workstream build, testing, deployment and post‑implementation activities.
    • Create and maintain system documentation, configuration records, integration diagrams and operational procedures.
    • Ensure changes are appropriately recorded, tested and reviewed.

Technology environment

The role will work across an integrated, cloud‑based technology environment, including:

  • Core business systems CRM: Salesforce Sales Cloud, including Salesforce flows and legacy Apex
  • File Storage and Document Management: Box.com
  • Data and Analytics: BigQuery
  • Integration and automation: Make.com
  • Webhooks, REST APIs and JSON
  • Third‑party SaaS integrations
  • Other systems: Cloud‑based communications and telephony platforms, integrated with Salesforce
  • Website forms and customer application workflows
  • Legacy Heroku quote application, scheduled for retirement
  • AI, OCR and emerging automation technologies

The role does not require expert knowledge of every platform but does require sufficient technical foundations and versatility to investigate, understand and work effectively across different systems.

Technical capability

  • Hands‑on Salesforce administration, including building and maintaining Flows.
  • Practical experience administering, supporting or developing cloud business applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting ability involving system configurations, automation logic and integrations.
  • Familiarity with APIs, webhooks and structured data formats.
  • Experience building or modifying business workflows using low‑code tools.
  • Ability to interpret system logs, error messages and technical documentation.
  • Understanding of software testing, data quality and change management principles.
  • Experience running a support or request queue against response targets.
  • Clear written communication, including user guides and training videos.
  • Careful handling of personal and credit information, in line with the Privacy Act, including Part IIIA.

Problem‑solving and delivery

  • Ability to investigate ambiguous problems methodically and independently.
  • Strong analytical skills, including identifying dependencies and root causes.
  • Capacity to manage competing requests and prioritise based on business impact.
  • Ability to move from problem investigation to solution design and practical implementation.
  • Willingness to work on both routine maintenance tasks and complex technical challenges.

Personal attributes

  • Strong ownership mentality and accountability for outcomes.
  • Patient, persistent and methodical when diagnosing issues.
  • Curious, adaptable and comfortable learning unfamiliar systems.
  • Detail‑oriented without losing sight of commercial and operational priorities.
