As an Environmental Health Officer in the Air Force, you’ll provide environmental health and occupational hygiene support in a range of environments from ADF workplaces to populations affected by disasters. You'll be responsible for:
- Planning, identification, evaluation and recommendations of control strategies to minimise environmental health impacts on ADF members
- Ensuring water safety
- Ensuring food safety
- Epidemiological studies
- Occupational hygiene
- Waste management
- Emergency management
- Workplace assessments
- Radiological assessments

Upon completion of initial military and employment training, you will enjoy a salary package starting from $97,168.
Location: Following training, you may be posted to one of the major Air Force bases around Australia, such as RAAF Base Amberley or Williamtown.
For this role, you must be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, an Australian Citizen, and have completed a degree majoring in Environmental Health or a postgraduate qualification in Environmental Health accredited by Environmental Health Australia (EHA). Environmental Science/Management or Occupational Health and Safety qualifications are not suitable for entry into this specialisation.
