ECRS is seeking a collaborative and innovative candidate to oversee the development of data analytics to drive reporting and intelligence for education and care services, non-government schools and home educating families across the ACT, under the Education and Care Services National Law (ACT), the Education Act 2004 and the Children and Young People Act 2008 (CYP Act).

In addition, this role will undertake complex policy and project work, and prepare briefings and ministerial correspondences, often within tight timeframes. This position requires leadership and expertise in regulatory functions and a strong ability to accurately interpret and apply legislation. The ideal candidate will be strategic and innovative with high level interpersonal, communication, and IT skills.

We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people with diverse thoughts, lived experience, and perspectives can thrive and contribute their unique talents to the ACTPS and ACT community. We encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people with disability, people with culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, veterans, younger and older workers, and people with diverse genders, sexes and sexualities to apply.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

  • Experience with PowerBI and/or data visualization tools is highly desirable.
  • Experience in a regulatory context is highly desirable.

This position is located in a workplace designated for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk. Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start, and finish times.

Note: Under the ACTPS employment framework you may be placed in another role where required for the efficient administration of the service. Where an offer of employment is for a fixed-term period, any related temporary contracts within the Territory will be issued in compliance with the requirements and applicable exceptions outlined in the Fair Work Act.

The ACT public service is committed to closing the gap, underpinned by the belief that when Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a genuine say in the design and delivery of policies, programs and services that affect them, better life outcomes are achieved.
