Join ABHT in Cairns as a Hospitality Trainer & Business Development Manager. Earn competitive training rates plus commission while taking students from enrolment to completion.

Australian Business & Hospitality Training (ABHT) is an established Registered Training Organisation delivering hospitality training across Queensland. As we expand into Cairns, we're looking for an experienced hospitality Trainer and Assessor who would also love the opportunity to build their own student base and earn additional income through business development.

This is a unique opportunity for the right person to take students through the complete journey, from their first introduction to ABHT and enrolment, through their training and ultimately to graduation.

About the Role

Your primary role will be delivering our popular Behind the Bar program, providing practical, hands-on hospitality training in real hospitality venues. However, we're particularly interested in finding someone who can combine training with business development.

You'll have the opportunity to build relationships with Job Service Providers and other referral partners throughout Cairns, promote our training programs, generate student referrals and enrol students into our courses. This means you won't just meet students when they arrive in your classroom. You can be involved from the very beginning, helping them enrol, delivering their training, supporting their progress and seeing them through to completion.

Importantly, the business development component provides an opportunity to earn additional commission on top of your training income.

Essential Requirements

  • TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or an accepted equivalent
  • Certificate III in Hospitality as a minimum hospitality qualification
  • Current and relevant hospitality and bar experience
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • Confidence building relationships with students and industry partners
  • Availability to deliver face-to-face training in Cairns

The Business Development Opportunity

We're looking for someone who is comfortable getting out into the Cairns community and developing relationships with Job Service Providers and other referral partners. You'll be supported by ABHT but will have the opportunity to build your own network, generate referrals and enrol students into our programs.

For the right person, this creates two income opportunities. You can earn competitive rates for delivering training and assessment, while also earning commissions for the students you bring into ABHT.

What We Offer

  • Very competitive trainer and assessor rates
  • Additional commission opportunities for student enrolments
  • The ability to combine training and business development
  • Training delivered in real hospitality venues
  • Flexible delivery opportunities
  • Support from an established Queensland RTO
  • The opportunity to build and manage the Cairns market
  • The satisfaction of taking students from enrolment right through to graduation

If you're a hospitality Trainer and Assessor who also enjoys meeting people, developing relationships and creating opportunities, we'd love to hear from you.
