Ready to build a career — not just get a job?

Are you organised, driven and genuinely interested in the construction industry?

Do you want an insight into commercial construction projects, and develop your skills to become a Project Coordinator?

Australian Architectural Fire Doors is a leading Queensland manufacturer and supplier of fire doors, pressed metal frames and associated products, based in Narangba, North Brisbane.

We work with builders and construction professionals across Southeast Queensland, supplying specialist door and frame solutions for commercial building projects.

We’re growing — and we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us.

Where could this role take you?

This role has been designed as a genuine career pathway.

You’ll initially work closely with our Sales & Distribution team, learning our products, systems, customers and processes.

As your knowledge and confidence develop, you’ll move into the Contract/Projects team, supporting the administration and coordination of commercial projects.

With the right attitude and capability, you’ll have the opportunity to progress into a Project Coordinator and ultimately Project Manager.

You’ll learn from experienced professionals and gain knowledge that can take years to develop in the industry.

  • Reviewing architectural drawings, specifications and contract documentation.
  • Learning Australian Standards and requirements relating to fire doors and frames.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with builders, project managers, contract administrators, site foremen and subcontractors.
  • Working with Estimators, Sales, Project Managers, Dispatch and Installers to keep projects moving.
  • Learning how to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced commercial construction environment.

What we're looking for

We’re more interested in your attitude, work ethic and willingness to learn than simply ticking every box.

You’ll ideally have

  • A genuine interest in construction, architecture, manufacturing or project management.
  • Previous experience in construction, building administration, sales administration, order processing, or a tradie wanting to get off the tools.
  • An understanding of construction drawings and specifications

( preferred ) .

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to confidently communicate with customers and construction professionals.
  • A proactive, reliable and solutions-focused approach. The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
  • A current driver's licence.
  • What you'll gain

This isn't a role where you're expected to know everything on day one.

You'll receive h ands-on training and mentoring from experienced industry professionals, giving you the opportunity to develop real-world skills in:

  • Commercial construction projects.
  • Fire door and pressed metal frame systems.
  • Australian Standards and compliance.
  • Architectural drawings and specifications.
  • Project coordination and scheduling.
  • Customer and builder relationships.
  • Sales and distribution.
  • Project Management.

Most importantly, you'll build specialised knowledge in a niche area of the construction industry that can provide a strong long-term career.

Why join Australian Architectural Fire Doors?
