Are you an experienced technical sales professional with a background in data centres, building technologies or industrial automation?

We’re looking for a commercially driven Account Manager to develop new business, strengthen key accounts and deliver integrated automation, control and monitoring solutions for complex, data-intensive environments.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in growing customer relationships and developing opportunities within the data centre sector, working with customers to address the technical and operational demands of highly connected facilities.

With exposure to systems spanning power, cooling, building management, monitoring and control, you’ll connect customer requirements with integrated technical solutions.

Working alongside engineering, digital and operational specialists, you’ll manage opportunities from initial engagement through to tendering, negotiation and contract award.

This role combines strategic account management, business development and end-to-end sales ownership, offering the opportunity to develop your presence in a hyperscale critical infrastructure market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow strategic relationships with data centre customers, identifying opportunities across new projects, upgrades and ongoing asset requirements.
  • Drive new business development across data centres and related critical infrastructure environments.
  • Position integrated solutions spanning Building Management Systems (BMS), automation, control, monitoring and digitalisation.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including opportunity qualification, tendering, quotations, proposals and contract negotiations.
  • Collaborate with engineering, digital solution architects and operations teams to develop technically sound, commercially competitive solutions.
  • Manage pricing, cost estimates, margins and commercial risks to support profitable outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, sales forecasts, pipeline reporting and structured account plans.
  • Apply value-based selling and account-based marketing strategies to grow customer engagement and sales performance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety requirements and internal commercial processes.

About You

You are commercially focused and understand the importance of reliable, integrated systems in complex technical environments.

You can engage confidently with customer decision-makers, identify operational challenges and work with technical specialists to develop solutions that deliver measurable value.

Ideally, you’ll bring

  • Experience in account management or technical sales within the data centre, critical infrastructure, building automation or industrial automation sectors.
  • An understanding of data centre infrastructure, particularly the interaction between power, cooling, BMS, monitoring and control systems.
  • Familiarity with BMS platforms, automation systems, monitoring solutions or integrated digital technologies.
  • The ability to discuss system architectures, interfaces and integration requirements with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience managing tenders, preparing commercial proposals and negotiating contracts.
  • A proven ability to develop customer relationships, identify opportunities and grow revenue.
  • What's on Offer
  • Exposure to complex projects and integrated solutions across critical infrastructure.
  • The opportunity to make a direct impact on business growth and market development.
  • $140,000 + Superannuation, Car Allowance & Bonus
  • Hybrid working model with office near Clayton

Interested?

If you have experience selling technical solutions into data centres, building automation or critical infrastructure and are ready to take ownership of strategic accounts and new business development, we’d like to hear from you.
