Run ECGs and fit Holter and blood pressure monitors across our Heartscope clinics in Melbourne.
Heartscope, part of Scope Healthcare, is one of Melbourne's largest cardiac diagnostic providers, with over 15 locations across the city.
We're now looking for a Medical Technician to join our cardiology team. This is a hands-on, patient-facing role. You'll run tests and prepare patients for their scans, alongside our cardiologists and sonographers.
What you will do
- Perform ECGs. Place the electrodes, record a clean trace and pass it on for reporting.
- Fit Holter and blood pressure monitors. Program each monitor, fit it, explain how to wear it, then download the recording when it comes back.
- Prepare patients for stress echocardiograms. Attach the ECG electrodes and blood pressure cuff, and assist the cardiologist during the test.
- Keep accurate records. Enter results and patient details in HealthTrack, in line with privacy requirements.
- Look after supplies and equipment. Keep electrodes and consumables stocked, and the equipment clean and working.
You're careful with detail and good at putting patients at ease, including people who are nervous about their tests.
We're looking for:
- A background in nursing, medicine or science. Recent graduates and current university students are welcome to apply.
- Clear communication with patients from a wide range of backgrounds.
- Confidence with computers and data entry, including Microsoft Office and healthcare software such as HealthTrack.
- A current driver's licence, as you may work across more than one clinic.
- Full working rights in Australia.
- A Working with Children Check and police check before you start.
Experience in a cardiology or medical clinic and a current CPR certificate will be highly regarded.
You will have an opportunity to:
- Build your skills in cardiac testing alongside experienced cardiologists and sonographers.
- Work with the latest diagnostic technologies and tools.
- Join a supportive, patient-focused team.
- Be part of one of Melbourne's largest cardiology, sleep and respiratory groups.
- Access team member discounts and offers at a range of retailers, venues and services.
