Architect a six-workstream ERP transformation end to end. Lead clean-core SAP design across S/4HANA, BTP and MDG. 12-month contract, Melbourne hybrid, direct ARB influence.
We’re looking for a Senior Solution Architect with real functional depth in Retail, Supply Chain or Finance. This is not an integration-only or SAP module role. It’s for an enterprise-first architect who happens to have deep SAP experience. You’ll sit across six workstreams as the architect who keeps the program coherent: guiding solution design, simplifying the integration landscape, uplifting master data governance and holding the line on the Target Architecture.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading end-to-end solution design across Finance, Supply Chain, Retail Platforms, HR and Corporate Applications.
- Championing clean-core principles across S/4HANA, BTP and MDG, keeping customisation to a minimum and using BTP or SaaS for extensibility.
- Rationalising integrations toward API-first, event-driven patterns and away from point-to-point.
- Defining master data ownership across product, supplier, customer and finance domains.
- Aligning designs to identity, security and access models (Entra ID, SAP IAS/IPS, ServiceNow provisioning).
- Taking solutions and option analysis to the Architecture Review Board and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Bringing structure and clarity to a multi-vendor, regulated environment, and challenging vendors and SIs where needed.
What you’ll bring:
- 10+ years in enterprise solution architecture.
- Strong functional architecture background in Retail, Supply Chain or Finance.
- Hands-on S/4HANA architecture at scale, plus BTP and MDG; SuccessFactors is a bonus.
- Experience leading architecture on one or more large ERP or transformation programs, ideally alongside global SIs.
- A solid grasp of clean-core, RISE and cloud deployment models.
- Commercial awareness covering TCO, licensing and vendor leverage.
- A calm, structured communication style and strong written and visual artefacts.
Experience in retail, distribution or other regulated, high-volume environments is highly regarded.
Why this role matters:
This architect is central to keeping the program aligned, scalable, compliant and future-ready. It’s a rare chance to shape a transformation that touches every part of the business, and to leave behind a cleaner, simpler architecture that you found. If you’re a senior architect who enjoys bringing order to complex programs, I’d love to hear from you.
