Task & responsibilities
- Assemble, install, maintain, service and repair industrial, commercial and domestic air-conditioning and refrigeration systems and equipment.
- Read technical drawings and specifications and establish installation reference points.
- Drill holes, install mounting brackets, and cut, bend and thread piping.
- Install and repair compressors, motors, condensers, evaporators, switches, gauges and copper piping.
- Connect pipes and equipment using bolting, soldering, riveting, welding and brazing techniques.
- Charge systems with gas or fluid and conduct pressure and leak tests.
- Test, operate and adjust refrigeration and air-conditioning systems for proper performance.
- Evacuate systems using vacuum pumps and recharge with refrigerant.
- Inspect, overhaul and diagnose faults in refrigeration and air-conditioning systems.
- Repair or replace defective components, adjust controls and reassemble systems after servicing.
- Record system faults, causes, repairs and corrective actions in accordance with safety requirements and applicable standards.
Qualification & experience
- AQF Certificate III or higher education in relevant field
- A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role.
- The right to work in Australia
- Good English skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong time management skills
