We are looking for an AML/CTF Compliance Coordinator to support Ausbuild in managing its obligations under Australia's Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) regime. This is a newly created role, working closely with our AML Compliance Officer (AMLCO) and the legal team. You will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and administration of Ausbuild's AML/CTF compliance activities, including conducting customer risk assessment, customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced customer due diligence (ECDD), record keeping and staff training support.

Working under the oversight of the AMLCO, you will take ownership of the day-to-day CDD process, liaise with customers to obtain required information and documentation, monitor outstanding requirements and elevate higher-risk or potentially suspicious matters for review. You will be highly organised, proactive and detail orientated, with strong communication skills and the confidence to work independently and engage with stakeholders across the business.

You will have experience in a compliance, paralegal, risk or administrative role. Previous AML/CTF experience will be highly regarded, but is not essential, as training will be provided. Experience in property, residential construction or a professional services environment will also be highly regarded. This is an opportunity to develop specialist AML/CTF expertise in a growing area of compliance while working closely with Ausbuild's AMLCO and Legal team.

Key Tasks:

  • Conduct CDD and ECDD using the PEXA Clear compliance platform in accordance with Ausbuild's AML/CTF Program and under the oversight of the AMLCO.
  • Liaise with customers to obtain, verify and maintain identification and other information and documentation required for CDD and ECDD.
  • Review customer information and documentation and conduct customer risk assessments in accordance with Ausbuild's AML/CTF Program.
  • Monitor outstanding and ongoing CDD requirements and follow up with customers and internal stakeholders as required.
  • Identify and elevate potential suspicious matters, unusual activity, higher-risk customers and other AML/CTF concerns to the AMLCO for review and determination.
  • Provide day-to-day administrative and compliance support to the AMLCO.

Reporting Assistance:

  • Assist the AMLCO to gather information and prepare internal AML/CTF reporting, including Board reporting, and regulatory reports and submissions to AUSTRAC.

Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date AML/CTF records, including customer risk assessments, CDD and ECDD records, training records and regulatory communications.

Staff Training Support:

  • Assist with the coordination, administration and tracking of staff AML/CTF training, including induction and onboarding requirements.

Key Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in compliance, paralegal, risk, legal administration, residential construction administration or a similar role.
  • Familiarity with Australia's AML/CTF legislation, regulatory requirements and risk-based compliance will be highly regarded but is not essential.
  • Experience in property, residential construction or professional services will be highly regarded.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple customer files, deadlines and compliance requirements.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing customer information and maintaining compliance records.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment and recognise when matters need to be escalated to the AMLCO.
  • Confidence using digital systems and compliance platforms, with experience using PEXA or PEXA Clear desirable but not essential.

Only applicants with full-work rights to work in Australia are eligible to apply.
