With a strong pipeline of repeat clients and continued growth, the business has reached the point where the Director needs a trusted operational leader to help drive the company forward.

The Opportunity

The owner has built a highly respected electrical contracting business with an excellent reputation for delivery, quality and client service.

The next stage of growth requires someone who can operate as a genuine business leader.

You'll work side-by-side with the Director, helping oversee project delivery, operations, people, systems, profitability and strategic growth initiatives.

This is a role for someone who enjoys building teams, improving processes, mentoring staff, strengthening client relationships and taking ownership of outcomes.

You'll have a genuine seat at the table and be involved in key business decisions.

What You'll Be Responsible For

Project Delivery

• Leading multiple commercial electrical projects from award through to completion
• Managing project performance, profitability and client satisfaction
• Overseeing budgets, forecasting, variations and commercial outcomes
• Managing subcontractors, suppliers and internal delivery teams
• Maintaining strong relationships with builders, consultants and end clients
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard

Operations & Leadership

• Acting as the operational leader across the business
• Supporting and mentoring Project Managers, Supervisors and Electricians
• Driving accountability, performance and team culture
• Improving systems, processes and operational efficiency
• Workforce planning and resource allocation
• Assisting with recruitment, succession planning and staff development
• Working closely with the Director on business growth initiatives
• Helping build the structure and foundations for the next phase of growth

What We're Looking For

This role isn't about finding the best Project Manager.

It's about finding someone who can become a trusted business leader and genuine second-in-command to the Director.

Essential Requirements

• Current NSW Electrical Licence
• Minimum 5+ years' experience managing commercial electrical projects.
• Strong commercial electrical contracting experience
• Proven experience delivering commercial electrical projects
• Leadership experience managing teams, subcontractors and stakeholders
• Strong commercial and financial acumen
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and operational priorities simultaneously
• Desire to contribute beyond project delivery and help drive business growth

Highly Regarded

• Diploma or Degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or Business
• Electrical Engineering qualifications
• Project Management Professional (PMP), Prince2 or equivalent qualifications
• Estimating or pre-construction experience
• Experience implementing systems, processes and operational improvements
• Experience leading business growth, mentoring teams and developing future leaders
