Senior Financial Accountant | Growth-Stage Telco
Melbourne | Hybrid | $110,000 – $130,000 + super

The business

Our client is a Melbourne-based telco that is innovating and challenging the status quo in how connectivity is delivered. Backed by strong investors and growing quickly, the business is expanding its footprint and investing heavily in its network. Finance plays a central role in how it scales.

The role

Reporting into the Finance Manager and working closely with the Head of Finance, you’ll add depth to core accounting. That frees the wider team to focus on analysis and decision support. This is more than a compliance seat. You’ll get genuine commercial exposure in a business where capital investment and project spend are becoming a bigger part of the picture.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Owning month-end close and preparing accurate, timely financial reporting
  • Supporting tax compliance and coordinating the external audit
  • Accounting for revenue and billing systems
  • Preparing budget vs actual commentary and contributing to forecasting
  • Driving process improvement and automation as the business grows
  • Supporting project and capital expenditure accounting

About you

  • CA or CPA qualified (or near completion), ideally with a Big 4 or mid-tier audit foundation
  • Strong technical accounting skills and a track record of owning month-end
  • Project accounting, capex or WIP reporting experience is highly regarded
  • Telco experience is a bonus but not required
  • Commercially curious, comfortable with change, and keen to improve how things are done

Why apply

  • A high-growth business with strong backing and a clear expansion plan
  • Broad exposure across core accounting, forecasting and capital projects
  • A finance team where you’ll shape processes rather than just maintain them
  • Hybrid working: three days in the office, two from home
