The Company
Our client is an ASX-listed global luxury e-commerce business that runs more like a tech company than a retailer. It operates on its own proprietary platform, built by its own engineers, with fewer than 100 people worldwide. Until now, accounts payable has been handled by the financial accountants on top of their day jobs. Volumes and cross-border complexity have outgrown that - so they're hiring their first dedicated AP specialist to own the function and set the standard.
The Role
You’ll own end-to-end AP for a high-volume, international supplier base:
- Prepare and reconcile supplier statements, which are generated from the business’s own order management platform and agreed with suppliers before they invoice
- Process invoices and manage payment runs, including foreign currency payments
- Act as the main contact for suppliers on statements, queries and discrepancies
- Document AP processes and tighten payment controls
- Remove single-person dependency on payments
- Work with the finance transformation and AI engineering teams to build on the automation already underway
What They're Looking For
5+ years of AP experience in a high-volume business, including ownership of the end-to-end process
Cross-border supplier experience — foreign currency invoices and payments, FX and international payment controls
Hands-on experience in a large-scale ERP (NetSuite, SAP or similar)
A track record of improving AP processes and controls — you know what good looks like and can build it
The confidence to coach finance colleagues and work with engineering teams
Broader accounting experience, or an interest in moving that way over time
Using AI tools or automation to remove manual work
Experience working remotely and autonomously
The Environment
Fully remote, five days a week, from anywhere in Australia. The finance team is split across Melbourne, Sydney and SE Asia. The structure is flat, with direct visibility to the CFO and CEO, and the culture is output-focused. This suits someone who questions the status quo and won't put up with friction they can fix.
