About the role
Binna Burra Mountain Lodge is seeking a full-time Maintenance & Grounds Manager to join our team in Binna Burra, QLD.
You will manage the planning, prioritisation, compliance, and oversight, while remaining actively involved in hands-on maintenance and grounds work.
What you'll be doing
Undertaking general maintenance and grounds duties including minor repairs, painting, basic carpentry, and physically demanding work such as regular inspection and maintenance of waterlines
Daily operational coordination and task prioritisation
Providing on-site supervision and direction to maintenance staff, contractors, and volunteers as required
Identifying, prioritising, and addressing maintenance, safety, and presentation issues in a timely manner
Assisting with WHS compliance, hazard identification, risk assessments, and incident reporting
Responding promptly and professionally to maintenance requests from guests and internal teams
Assisting with event and function set-up and pack-down
Maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and completed works
About you
Demonstrated experience in a maintenance or grounds role, ideally within hospitality, tourism, facilities management, or a similar operational environment
Experience supporting a manager in a senior or assistant capacity
Strong practical skills across a broad range of maintenance and grounds tasks
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make sound decisions on-site
Strong communication skills with a collaborative and professional approach
High attention to detail and a strong commitment to safety, presentation, and guest experience
Availability to work weekends and public holidays
Licences, tickets & compliance
Trade qualification or trade background (carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or similar)
Experience working within WHS systems, including safe work procedures and hazard reporting
Experience in SWTP (not essential but highly favourable)
Previous experience in a management or supervisory role
Physical capacity to perform outdoor and manual work
