We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our kitchen team at ASMS Group Pty Ltd. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in preparing and presenting high-quality pizza, grill and other menu dishes, with proven experience in carrying out all aspects of kitchen operations.
Responsibilities include:
- Food preparation and cooking
- Maintaining kitchen and service areas in accordance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Assisting with stock control and menu planning as required
- Inspecting and assessing food items to ensure quality, freshness and consistency
- Monitoring and regulating the temperature of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
- Preparing, cooking and presenting a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Seasoning and adjusting food during preparation
- Portioning and plating meals attractively
- Storing ingredients and prepared food in temperature-controlled environments
- Preparing meals to accommodate special dietary needs and customer preferences
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering
- Following all health, safety and cleanliness requirements
- Providing guidance and on-the-job training to junior kitchen staff and apprentices
Qualifications & experience:
- Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within the hospitality or food service industry
- Strong teamwork, time management and organisational skills
- Sound knowledge of food preparation techniques, safety, hygiene regulations and kitchen procedures
- Attention to detail with a genuine passion for preparing and presenting high-quality, flavoursome dishes
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
- Flexibility and adaptability to assist with special events, seasonal menus and varying customer requirements
- A relevant qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent certification is highly regarded
