Aruma is seeking an exceptional executive leader to take on the role of Executive General Manager, Home & Living Southern. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer and working as a key member of the senior leadership team, the Executive General Manager will have broad strategic and operational responsibility for the Home & Living Southern portfolio across multiple jurisdictions. This is a substantial leadership role, with accountability for service performance, participant experience, workforce capability, financial outcomes, quality, safeguarding and regulatory compliance across a complex and geographically dispersed operation.
The successful executive will provide clear direction and leadership to Regional Managers and senior operational leaders, creating the environment for strong performance and consistent service delivery. A key priority will be building leadership capability, strengthening accountability and ensuring teams have the clarity, support and resources required to deliver. The role will also have a strong focus on improving operational effectiveness and financial sustainability.
The Executive General Manager will bring a disciplined and commercially informed approach to performance, workforce planning and resource utilisation, while ensuring decisions remain grounded in participant outcomes and Aruma's purpose. Beyond the portfolio, the role will contribute to broader organisational priorities and strategic direction.
You are an experienced senior executive who has successfully led complex, multi-site operations within disability services, health, community services or a related human services environment. You will bring a strong combination of strategic leadership, operational discipline and commercial acumen, with a track record of improving performance across sizeable and geographically dispersed portfolios.
You understand that sustainable performance in human services requires more than financial results. You are equally focused on service quality, participant experience, workforce capability, safeguarding and creating an environment in which people can perform at their best. You have demonstrated experience leading through transformation, organisational change or periods of significant operational complexity.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide strategic, operational and financial leadership across the Home & Living Southern portfolio.
- Set clear performance expectations and drive improvements in service quality, participant experience and operational outcomes.
- Lead and develop Regional Managers and senior operational leaders, strengthening leadership capability, accountability and succession.
- Improve workforce effectiveness, resource utilisation and operational consistency across a geographically dispersed service network.
- Maintain strong oversight of financial performance and support the long‑term sustainability of the portfolio.
- Ensure services operate within relevant legislative, regulatory, quality, safeguarding and risk requirements.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, inclusion, continuous improvement and high performance.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen existing services, improve participant outcomes and support sustainable portfolio growth.
- Work collaboratively with the Chief Operating Officer and executive colleagues to deliver enterprise‑wide strategic priorities.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with participants, families, government, regulators, sector partners and other key stakeholders.
This is an opportunity to take on a significant executive leadership position within one of Australia's leading disability services organisations and influence the future performance of a substantial Home & Living portfolio. The role offers genuine scope to shape how services are delivered, strengthen leadership capability and create greater consistency and sustainability across a complex operating environment.
