About the Arts & Culture Trust (ACT WA): ACT WA manages and operates some of Western Australia's most iconic cultural venues. Our vision is to inspire, welcome and connect people through exceptional performing arts and cultural experiences across the State.

About the role: The Director Business Services provides strategic leadership across ACT WA's business services functions, including finance, people and culture, work health and safety, digital systems and facilities. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the role drives organisational capability, leads change and continuous improvement, and ensures business services enable ACT WA to achieve its strategic objectives. Through strong collaboration and service excellence, the Director builds a high-performing, sustainable organisation that delivers lasting cultural impact for Western Australians.

Location: This role will be based at His Majesty’s Theatre and may be required to travel to work from other ACT WA’s metropolitan sites as required.

About you: We are looking for a leader who is comfortable balancing strategic thinking with operational delivery, who can effectively transition between long-term organisational planning and hands-on problem solving as required and with a natural ability to build positive relationships across the organisation. You will be expected to demonstrate the following selection criteria:

  • Demonstrated success leading business services, corporate services or organisational support functions in a complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated experience leading significant organisational, workforce, system or technology-enabled change, including the successful implementation and embedding of sustainable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide organisational leadership that balances strategic thinking with practical delivery and achievement of organisational outcomes.
  • Highly developed leadership skills with demonstrated experience building organisational capability, leading high-performing teams and fostering a collaborative and values-driven culture.
  • Demonstrated financial literacy and commercial acumen, including experience contributing to financial sustainability, organisational planning and resource management.
  • Highly developed conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, manage complexity and deliver practical solutions to organisational challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships, influence outcomes and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, service providers, industry partners and executive leadership groups.

Conditions: To be eligible to apply, you also need to demonstrate the following qualification and license requirements:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in business, commerce, finance, management, human resources, organisational development, information technology or a related discipline.
  • Applicants for permanent positions in the Western Australian Public Sector must be Australian citizens or hold permanent resident status. For temporary (fixed term) positions, proof of eligibility to work in Australia for the contract duration is required.
  • A current Satisfactory National Police Clearance (within 6 months) will be required prior to commencing employment.

What we offer: This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting ACT WA in delivering memorable hospitality experiences across Western Australia’s premier cultural destinations. Here at ACT WA, you will be able to enjoy flexible work arrangements and additional leave entitlements, including public service holidays.

Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion: ACT is committed to fostering workplace equity and diversity. We encourage applications from Aboriginal people, women, individuals with disabilities, youth and those from culturally diverse backgrounds. Applicants will be assessed on the essential selection criteria throughout the selection process.
