Factory Hand - Sofa & Upholstery Production
In this role, you will play a crucial part in the production line that brings comfort and style into people's homes. Working across our framing, foaming, and dispatch departments, you will support the manufacturing of premium, custom-made sofas and lounges.
Key responsibilities
Frame Assembly Support: Assisting tradespeople in assembling timber sofa frames using staple guns, drills, and clamps.
Foam & Webbing Preparation: Cutting, gluing, and attaching foam padding and webbing, to lounge frames according to specifications.
Material Handling: Moving heavy sofa frames, leather/fabric rolls, and foam cushions safely around the workshop.
Quality Inspection: Checking frames and upholstered components for defects, uneven padding, or loose fixtures before passing them to the final team.
Packing & Dispatch: Wrapping finished lounges in protective plastic, fitting feet/legs, and loading furniture safely into delivery trucks.
Workshop Upkeep: Maintaining a clean, organised workstation and clearing away fabric and foam off-cuts to ensure a safe working environment.
About you
An eye for quality: Precision matters-you must be able to spot alignment issues or defects in fabric and foam easily.
Reliability & Punctuality: A down-to-earth, hard-working attitude with a track record of showing up on time every day.
Prior experience in furniture assembly, bedding manufacturing, upholstery, or timber cabinetry is highly regarded but not essential. Full training will be provided to the right person.
