Maybe you studied law but don’t want to be a lawyer. Maybe you smashed a commerce, economics, marketing or tech degree and discovered the traditional graduate path feels a little… predictable. Or maybe you’re a few years into your career and have realised you’re really good at people, opportunity and making things happen. We should talk.
Aquent is looking for a seriously bright, commercially minded person to join our Australian business and learn how to build a market from the ground up. And to be clear: We’re deliberately NOT looking for someone from recruitment. We can teach you recruitment. What’s much harder to teach is curiosity, commercial instinct, resilience, judgement, confidence and ambition.
What will you actually do?
- This is a 360-degree commercial role spanning business development, relationship building, talent and recruitment.
- You’ll learn to spot opportunity before it turns into a job vacancy.
- You’ll turn those signals into conversations, relationships, opportunities and revenue.
- Then you’ll learn the other side: finding brilliant people, interviewing, advising clients, negotiating, closing placements and growing accounts.
Who are you?
First, the non-negotiable: You must have a university degree and a strong record of academic achievement. Your degree could be in law, commerce, education, art, economics, business, psychology, marketing, technology, engineering or something we haven’t thought of. We care less about what you studied and more about what your results tell us about how you think and perform.
You might be an outstanding graduate or already a few years into sales, consulting, professional services, account management, customer success or another commercial career.
What we’re really looking for is someone who is:
- Someone who asks great questions.
- Someone who notices things.
- Someone who treats setbacks as data, not defeat.
- Someone who wants their performance to have a direct relationship with what they earn.
- And someone who backs themselves.
What you DO NOT need?
In fact, if your career has predominantly been in recruitment, this particular role isn’t for you. We’re intentionally looking outside the industry for someone with a different perspective and the raw ingredients to become exceptional.
What do you get?
- A competitive base salary plus uncapped commission.
- Unlimited annual leave.
- $8,000 annual Learning & Development allowance.
- Access to Aquent’s company-owned holiday retreat homes.
- Global career opportunities.
- Exposure to emerging AI and recruitment technology.
- A seriously experienced team to learn from.
There isn’t a predetermined ceiling on where this can take you. So if you’re smart, ambitious and sitting there thinking “I’m capable of more than what I’m doing now.” come and prove it.
