Valley Park Farm is a locally owned Victorian business. Our first farm was established in the heart of one of Australia’s most productive farming lands, the Goulburn Valley. Our three original sites are bordered by the Goulburn River on one side and Great Dividing Range on the other. Expansion in 2012 saw the addition of a farm nestled amongst the rolling hills of the Strathbogie Ranges. An abundant fresh water natural spring carries life and nourishment to our free-range hens, where our farm began free range egg production in 2013.
We are seeking a competent and highly motivated person who can effectively assist in the management of the day-to-day functions of a farm. The duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Ensuring the excellent welfare of stock
- Organising and conducting farming operations such as maintaining sheds & surrounding areas, water supply system and equipment
- Preparation of sheds for batches of chickens
- Daily operations, feed ordering and movement of livestock
- Maintaining cleanliness, maintenance and stock control
- Identifying and controlling environmental toxins, weeds, pests, and diseases
- Daily and weekly reporting
- Supervision of existing staff and training new staff
- Managing business capital, monitoring market activity and planning production to meet contract requirements and market demand
