Locum Small Animal Internal Medicine Specialist or Registrar | Sunshine Coast, QLD

About QVS

Queensland Veterinary Specialists (QVS) is Australia's longest-established, privately owned 24/7 specialist group. We treat every pet as a cherished member of the family, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care. Our three Specialist and Emergency hospitals are at Stafford, North Lakes and our newest hospital on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, each equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and veterinary technology.

About the role

We're looking for an Internal Medicine Specialist or Registrar to provide locum cover at our Sunshine Coast hospital during a period of maternity leave within our Medicine team. Cover is needed from now until August 2027, and we're open to discussing locum availability for all or part of that period. You'll manage a varied small animal referral medicine caseload, working closely with our emergency, critical care and multidisciplinary teams, with the backing of our wider QVS Medicine group across Stafford and North Lakes. It's a team that values compassion, collaboration and clinical excellence.

A 12-month contract here is a great chance to grow your medicine career while enjoying the coastal lifestyle.

What we offer

  • Market-leading locum remuneration
  • Generous continuing education allowance
  • Financial assistance with relocation for local and interstate candidates
  • Collaborative support from specialists across our three hospitals

What we're looking for

  • Specialists - Board-qualified in Small Animal Internal Medicine, as a Fellow (ANZCVS) or Diplomate (ACVIM or ECVIM)
  • Registrars - Completed (or nearing completion of) an accredited residency in small animal internal medicine and eligible to sit a certification examination, or
  • Membership of the ANZCVS in Small Animal Medicine with substantial referral medicine experience
  • A committed, open-minded scientist and dedicated veterinarian
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, referring vets and colleagues
  • A commitment to delivering gold-class care to every patient
