Anthem Care is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Cook to join our kitchen team at our aged care facility in Bowral.
If you love cooking and have a genuine flair for pastry and baking, this is a role where your creativity will be truly appreciated. Our residents look forward to mealtimes, and a freshly baked cake, a perfect slice or a beautifully made dessert can brighten their whole day.
About the role
- Prepare and cook nutritious, high-quality meals for residents in a commercial kitchen
- Bake and create cakes, slices, desserts, pastries and other treats, with the chance to add your own ideas and variety to the menu
- Take pride in food quality, presentation and variety
- Prepare meals that meet individual dietary, allergy and texture-modified requirements
- Follow food safety standards and maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen
- Work closely with the kitchen team to deliver a smooth meal service
About you
- Proven experience as a cook in a commercial kitchen
- A real passion for cooking and baking
- Understanding of food safety (HACCP) and dietary requirements
- Pride in your work and an eye for presentation
- A positive attitude and the ability to work well in a team
- Reliable and organised, with good communication skills
Experience in aged care, hospital or catering kitchens, and knowledge of modified diets, is highly regarded but not essential.
Qualifications: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience) preferred. A current Food Safety Supervisor certificate is desirable.
