Antarctica Cruise is a specialist expedition cruise agency working with many of the world’s leading luxury and expedition cruise lines. We sell extraordinary voyages across the polar regions and some of the world’s most remote destinations. Our clients are typically well-travelled, curious and ready to invest significantly in the right experience. They come to us because they want genuine expertise rather than a call centre or scripted sales experience.

If you love selling cruises but are tired of spending your day dealing with flight schedules, manifests and operational administration, this role may be exactly what you’re looking for. Your job is simple:

  • Talk to clients
  • Understand what they want
  • Recommend exceptional voyages
  • Close business

You’ll manage qualified enquiries from initial consultation through to booking, while our dedicated logistics team handles much of the operational work after the sale. This is a fully remote role with a high degree of autonomy. We don’t believe in micromanaging experienced people. You’ll be trusted to manage your clients, your pipeline and your day while being accountable for your results.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Consulting with clients looking to book luxury and expedition cruises
  • Converting qualified inbound enquiries through consultative sales
  • Matching clients with the right ship, itinerary and expedition experience
  • Developing deep knowledge of expedition cruise lines and destinations
  • Managing high-value bookings, often worth tens of thousands of dollars
  • Building long-term relationships that generate repeat business and referrals
  • Independently managing your sales pipeline and follow-ups
  • Working closely with our logistics, product and management teams

Who We’re Looking For

Above everything else, you already know how to sell cruises. You understand the difference between taking an order and genuinely consulting. You’re comfortable discussing ships, cabin categories, itineraries, inclusions and cruise lines with clients. You know how to build trust over the phone and convert a complex, high-value enquiry into a booking. Experience selling expedition cruising is highly desirable, but it isn’t essential if you have strong cruise sales experience and the ability to learn quickly.

Essential

  • Professional experience personally selling cruises to clients
  • Strong cruise product knowledge
  • Proven travel sales experience
  • Excellent telephone and written communication skills
  • Confidence selling high-value travel
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment
  • Strong organisation and follow-up discipline
  • Australian working rights

Highly Regarded

  • Expedition cruise sales experience
  • Luxury cruise sales experience
  • Polar expedition destination knowledge
  • HubSpot, Salesforce or similar CRM experience
  • Existing relationships within the Australian cruise industry

The Person

We’re a small, capable team, so personality matters. You’ll probably thrive here if you’re commercially minded, curious, self-motivated and genuinely enjoy talking to clients. We value people who take ownership, communicate clearly, help their teammates and don’t need constant supervision. We don’t use rigid scripts. We want knowledgeable people who can have intelligent conversations with clients and make good decisions.

What We Offer

  • $70,000 base salary + performance incentives
  • Fully remote position from anywhere in Australia
  • Qualified inbound enquiries
  • Dedicated logistics support
  • No flight bookings
  • No manifests
  • Significantly less operational administration than a traditional travel consultant role
  • Extensive expedition cruise product training
  • Opportunities for industry opportunities
  • Career progression within a growing specialist cruise business
  • The opportunity to become a genuine expert in one of travel’s most exciting niches

Please Read Before Applying: Previous professional cruise sales experience is a requirement for this position. General retail sales, hospitality, airline, hotel or general travel experience without cruise sales experience will not meet the requirements of this role. Applications that do not demonstrate previous cruise sales experience will not progress. If you’re already working in cruise and looking for a role where you can focus more of your time on clients, sales and exceptional product, we’d love to hear from you.
